Blue Vervain is native to Eastern North America and is happiest in a swamp or wetland environment. On the farm, we give Blue Vervain ample space and water. In its second year of growth, this perennial can reach over 6 feet tall and is quite impressive with its delicate blue flowers stretching out like a candelabra. We harvest the flowers and leaves of Blue Vervain once the plant is in full bloom and then tincture it fresh.
Today, Blue Vervain is often used to promote a sense of calm in a fast-paced world. It is specifically indicated for those who have a hard time relaxing due to the many tasks they have at hand.
Blue Vervain:
